Nature Center and Observatory Programs

The Nature Center and Observatory at Rifle Camp Park offers many programs and activities for all ages and interests.

The Nature Center is a small Nature and Science Museum and visitor's center. It contains displays on a variety of science topics including a working seismograph that records earthquakes from around the world, wildlife exhibits, local rocks and minerals, astronomy and more. A new dinosaur footprint display will be completed soon. The nature center is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays and on Tuesdays from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.

The Astronomical Observatory is open for public viewing on selected dates during the year. If you have never looked through a telescope this is a wonderful opportunity to do so.

Please watch for the 2016 Astronomy night schedule which is coming soon.
